NaNo Week 1 Recap – I’VE SURVIVED!!!! (So far)

Yes, I have survived the first week of NaNo, and my performance of Annie Jr. However, I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY COPY OF NIGHTFALL. *cough*

The performance of Annie Jr. went really, really well, so that was good. However, Starless has started acting up.

Of course, I have my bribes. >:)

NaNoWriMo Week One Recap:

Day One:

Day One was pretty easy, because I had a clear idea of where I wanted the story to go. I woke up early so I could write and hopefully get a little ahead, which I did.

Total words: 2679

Day Two:

Day Two was harder. You see, I realized how cute two of my characters would be together. Except…. they aren’t supposed to be together. Well, I know it would ruin my whole plot, but… I’ve started considering it.

Total words: 4285

Day Three:

Day Three was pretty easy, though I came up with yet another idea that would allow the two characters to be together. Again, it would ruin the plot, but….

Total words: 6037

Day Four:

I got rediscovered the theme song of one of my favorite shows when I was younger and BOY IS IT GOOD WRITING MUSIC.

Total words: 6709

Day Five:

By Day Five, let’s just say I’m exhausted from rehearsals and writing. Oh, and I’ve memorized all the words to that theme song I was talking about. XD

Total words: 8440

Day Six:

Time to put some bribes into action………..

Total words: 10,118

Day Seven:

Just barely made my word count goal for today, since it’s the day of Annie Jr!

Total words: 11,688

I haven’t written anything today… I should probably go do that?

Golden Feathers, Silver Clouds

Before I do go and write, one last thing! Beautiful Books November 2017!

beautiful books

Overall, how is your mental state, and how is your novel going?

Very bad indeed.  You should probably keep your distance from both me and my novel.

What’s your first sentence (or paragraph)?

My first paragraph is:

I sit in a soft armchair by the window, my eyes closed. I can imagine my mothers fingers braiding my hair, my father talking to us, telling us ridiculous stories. But I know that when I open my eyes, no one will be there. I’m all alone.

Who’s your current favourite character in your novel?

Isaiah and Arendale. Too bad that one of them is supposed to die… maybe I should kill someone else instead….

What do you love about your novel so far?

Truthfully, nothing. Except maybe Arendale, my poor sweet baby.

Have you made any hilarious typos or other mistakes?

Not that I can think of, I don’t usually make any typos at this stage of NaNo.

What is your favourite to write: beginning, middle, or end — and why?

That depends on each novel I write. I love them all, but I like the middle the best, I think, because that’s when things start coming together.

What are your writing habits? Is there a specific snack you eat? Do you listen to music? What time of day do you write best? Feel free to show us a picture of your writing space!

I don’t snack much, but I do listen to music! I write best in the early morning.

How private are you about your novel while you’re writing? Do you need a cheer squad or do you work alone (like, ahem, Batman)?

I work alone. And I am VERY private about my writing. I keep a spare tab up on the computer so that if someone walks by, I can pull up the blank tab.

What keeps you writing even when it’s hard?

Word sprints.

What are your top 3 pieces of writing advice?

Ooh, I don’t know.

I would recommend finding someone who you can share your writing with and they can encourage you about it. And also taking breaks between writing.

All ye NaNoers, how’s the writing going?
